Jungle tour with beach visit – day trip from Praia do Forte or our hotel on the north coast
Looking for an unforgettable tour in Praia do Forte or the north coast of Bahia? Then this adventure is just right for you!
Our tour starts directly from our hotel, the Pousada Rancho Fundo, on the north coast of Salvador da Bahia.
Alternatively, a departure can be arranged at Salvador Airport or in Praia do Forte.
From there, we travel in an air-conditioned SUV to the mouth of the Rio Pojuca, where we board a small boat and travel about five kilometers upstream to the rapids.
This is where our jungle hike begins along the river, right through the Atlantic rainforest. Thanks to the tropical warmth, an impressive flora thrives here, and with a bit of luck you can spot a snake, a sloth or other wild animals in their natural habitat. The hiking trails lead us to a lively river bend - a real natural highlight! After a short break, we head back in a relaxed manner.
For adrenaline junkies: If you feel like it, you can glide over the river with the Tirolesa (cable car, not included in the price) - a real adventure with spectacular views!
We continue along a narrow jungle path, past a small waterfall, until we reach the visitor center of the nature reserve. There is an exciting exhibition about the flora and fauna of the region.
At the mooring point on the river bank, a small kiosk invites you to enjoy a fresh, cool coconut. If you want, you can also cool off in the river.
To round off the day, we head back to the river mouth on the beach, where you have the opportunity to swim in the sea and end the day with a freshly prepared redfish or a typical Baía moqueca.
