Where can you take Ayahuasca in South America? Ayahuasca Retreat in South America

Ayahuasca is not a single plant, but a mixture of two plants: the Banisteriopsis caapi vine and the Psychotria viridis plant – the latter containing the psychedelic DMT. This mixture has been used for centuries by indigenous peoples in the rainforests of South America for spiritual and healing ceremonies. During the Ayahuasca ceremony, participants enter an intense inner process that can release blockages and answer deep-rooted questions.

Brazil, especially the Amazon region, is one of the main countries where ayahuasca ceremonies take place. Although ayahuasca is also used in other countries such as Peru and Ecuador, Brazil remains the center of ayahuasca consumption due to its deep roots in traditional indigenous medicine and its widespread public acceptance.

Unlike many large group retreats focused on mass experiences, we place a high value on personalized attention. Our retreat can be flexible and lasts between 4 and 14 days and includes a profound Ayahuasca ceremony that will help you deepen your spiritual journey and connect with yourself.

The process of the Ayahuasca ceremony

The ceremony begins in the evening, when you gather around the campfire with the shaman and a personal guardian who will accompany and support you throughout the ceremony. Throughout the night, you will receive three shot-glass-sized doses of the ayahuasca drink, with a gap of approximately two to three hours between each dose. This gradual dosage allows you to gradually feel the effects of the plant and enjoy your experience at your own pace.

During the ceremony, you have the freedom to decide whether you want to consume all three doses or stick with one or two. Your personal guardian and shaman will be by your side to support you should you need any help during the intense phases of the experience. They will ensure that you feel safe and well-cared for as you delve into your inner journey.

Why an individual ceremony can be better

Ayahuasca ceremonies can cause physical reactions such as nausea or vomiting—this is part of the "cleansing" and healing process. Many people prefer not to have these experiences in large groups, preferring to experience them in a smaller, more personalized setting. With us, you can experience the ceremony either in a small group or completely on your own. This allows you to have the experience in a safe, intimate setting and focus entirely on your own journey.

Ayahuasca in Brazil and what else awaits you

After your intensive experience with us, your stay can be wonderfully combined with further exploration of Brazil. Brazil has much more to offer than just ayahuasca—from the tropical rainforests and islands of the Amazon to the unforgettable beaches of Rio de Janeiro or the exciting metropolis of São Paulo. An ayahuasca retreat in Brazil can be the perfect introduction to another adventure, allowing you to explore both inner and outer worlds.
